| how we are different |
|
Pre-K for All DC is the District’ leading public engagement and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of young children and their families by building a high-quality early care and education system. We differ from other organizations in three key ways. (1) Through our unique policy logic model, Pre-K for All DC takes a systems-building approach to developing its public policy agenda. Our top two priorities over the next two years, pre-k legislative implementation and birth to three care, seek to build a coherent, seamless system of care and education from birth to age five. (2) Through our theories of change and action, Pre-K for All DC recognizes the value of and seeks to inform, mobilize, and engage all stakeholders on behalf of young children – from the grandmother caring for her children to the high-profile civic leader. Our outreach and engagement efforts touch a range of key constituencies including families with young children, the business community, and early childhood educators. (3) Through collaboration and coordination with similarly mission-focused organizations, Pre-K for All DC leverages its small budget and resources to achieve remarkable public policy victories for children. For instance, Pre-K for All DC collaborates closely with a range of partners to lead the DC Education Compact’s early childhood hub.
