theory of change and theory of action

To execute its mission as a public engagement and advocacy organization, Pre-K for All DC follows a clear theory of change and theory of action.

Our theory of change draws out our organization’s underlying assumptions about how to make early care and education a top priority in the District of Columbia and ultimately realize our vision on behalf of young children.

theory of change: Pre-K for All DC, Inc. will build public knowledge, public will, and public action by highlighting how investments in early care and education yield social and economic returns that advance the District’s top three policy goals: Education Reform, Workforce Development, and Economic Growth.

To actualize our theory of change and guide our work as an organization, Pre-K for All DC developed a theory of action.

theory of action: Pre-K for All DC will develop, acquire and disseminate economic and educational research; utilize state of the art communication and mobilization tools and strategies; and convene and collaborate with key stakeholders to connect high-quality early care and education with the District’s top three goals. Together these two theories explain why and how we advance our public policy agenda.
