Carol Brunson Day, Ph.D.
Carol Brunson Day serves as President and CEO of the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI). The Pre-K for All DC Campaign is a collaborative intiative of NBCDI. Previous to this position, Day served as the CEO of the Council for Professional Recognition. The Council is a Washington, D.C.-based association that serves as the home of the Child Development Associate National Credentialing Program, as well as the National Head Start Fellowship Program. Dr. Day is recognized as a leader in the field of early childhood education. 

Terence C. Golden
In addition to serving as Campaign Co-Chair for Pre-K for All DC, Terry Golden is currently the Chairman of Bailey Capital Corporation, a private investment company. From 1995 until 2000, Golden was President and Chief Executive Officer of Host Marriott Corporation. He continues to serve on the Boards of Host Hotels and Resorts, Inc. and the Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation. Golden also currently serves as Chair of the Federal City Council and on the Board of Directors of Pepco.  

Julienne Johnson
Julienne Johnson is currently the Chair of the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Early Childhood Development and is the Founder and President of Front of the Bus Productions. Front of the Bus is a growing, national consulting firm committed to inspiring leaders and renewing organizations that seek to lead change in the work place, in communities, and beyond. Prior to launching Front of the Bus Productions, Johnson directed Freedom Schools, an educational enhancement, child and youth leadership development program coordinated nationally by the Children's Defense Fund.

Barbara Ferguson Kamara
Barbara Kamara is the current administrator of the District of Columbia Department of Human Services' Early Care and Education Administration (ECEA). In her tenure as administrator she has overseen extensive expansion of early childhood programs in the District. Before coming to DC government, she served under President Carter as associate commissioner in the Department of Health and Human Services where she was responsible for the National Head Start Program. Kamara has received several awards for her advocacy on behalf of children.

Maurice Sykes
Maurice Sykes is currently the Executive Director of the Early Childhood Leadership Institute at UDC and an urban educator who consults on systemic change, early childhood education, and early literacy acquisition. As the former Deputy Superintendent for the Center for Systemic Educational Change and Director of Early Childhood Programs for the District of Columbia Public Schools, he has demonstrated his ability to take charge of change and brought significant innovations to the D.C. Public Schools’ educational reform agenda.

Carrie Thornhill
Carrie Thornhill is a former DC Board of Education At-Large Member. She has been actively and successfully engaged in public education reform, community development, and research for action, social action and community-building work for 40 years. Carrie was the founding President of the DC Childcare Corporation and a founding member of DC Agenda.
